For the seventh time, project staff of currently five “Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD)” projects of the German Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture’s Bilateral Cooperation Programme (BCP) came together for their annual internal meeting with representatives of the ministry and its commissioning agent GFA Consulting Group in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The three-days event that took place from 11-13 July 2017 was excellently organized by APD Kazakhstan.
The meeting serves not only to present each other’s country work focus areas, discuss upcoming activities, joint participation in public events and current challenges in the activities of the projects, but also to share experiences of best practices and receive suggestions from valuable colleagues to further improve cooperation in one’s home project.
Besides the official meetings the participants also visited the EXPO 2017, which is hosted by Astana City this year.
The APD approach is a policy instrument of BMEL to strengthen and promote cooperation in partner countries. The common objectives are to develop high-performance agricultural sectors worldwide, save scarce natural resources, contribute to global food security and strengthening political contacts.
Participation countries are China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Ukraine and Russia.
