Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL)
The political leadership and funding support of the DCZ lies with the BMEL together with the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture (MOA).
The Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture, abbreviated BMEL, is a cabinet-level ministry of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its headquarters are located in Bonn with a second major office in Berlin. It consists of six departments and under its auspices are various federal agencies, legally independent institutions under public law and government research institutes.
With its Bilateral Cooperation Programme, the BMEL supports partner countries in establishing a productive, yet resource-conserving agri-food industry via practice-oriented project activities.
At the international technical level, the Ministry regularly engages on a range of topics: global food security, access to land, sustainable resource management, renewable resources, food safety and consumer protection. They also organize the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA), which takes place annually as part of International Green Week in Berlin.
Deutsche Gesellschaft fÃ¼r Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH
GIZ is the German implementing partner of the DCZ.
GIZ operates throughout Germany and in more than 130 countries worldwide. Registered offices are in Bonn and Eschborn. GIZ has 16,410 staff members around the globe, almost 70 % of whom are employed locally as national personnel.
As a service provider with worldwide operations in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development, GIZ works together with its partners to develop effective solutions that offer people better prospects and sustainably improve their living conditions. GIZ is a public-benefit federal enterprise and supports many public and private sector clients in a wide variety of areas, including economic development and employment, energy and the environment, and peace and security.
In China, GIZ operates primarily on behalf of the German government and is currently commissioned by a number of German federal ministries. GIZ also works for German federal states, the European Commission, the Asian Development Bank as well as clients from the Chinese public sector. During decades of successful technical cooperation with China, GIZ has developed close ties with Chinese and German government institutions. Building upon these networks, GIZ also offers solutions for private sector clients in China to address sustainability issues.
GFA Consulting Group GmbH
GFA Consulting Group is the administering and monitoring agency of the DCZ.
It has a sound track record of providing effective solutions to the challenges in the global consulting market. Based in Hamburg, the company has implemented complex studies and projects in over 130 countries since 1982. Leading development agencies, ministries and public clients have entrusted GFA with helping them to manage projects financed through bilateral and multilateral funds.
As General Agent of the BMEL Bilateral Cooperation Programme, GFA Berlin Office provides the Ministry with expertise on strategy, content and innovative methods, develops projects, contracts implementing agencies for projects in Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and South America, monitors and controls ongoing projects, administers the programme budget and cooperates with project partners.
Deutsche Landwirtschafts Gesellschaft (DLG) China
DLG is partner and implementing agency of DCZ for the coordination with the agriculture and food industries of China and Germany. It is also one of the implementing agencies of the Sino-German Crop Production and Agrotechnology Demonstration Park and the Sino-German Trainee Programme.
The German Agricultural Society (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft), commonly known as DLG, is an international non-profit organization for agricultural industry in Germany. DLG was founded in 1885 and has over 27,000 members in Germany. Its main purpose is to promote technical progress and scientific advances in the food and agricultural industry, including setting standards.
The DLG organizes agricultural trade fairs and exhibitions such as Agritechnica, EuroTier, Anuga FoodTec, PotatoEurope, and DLG Field Days.
DLG International GmbH is the leading consulting company of the DLG group for Agribusiness and the Food Industry – national and international. It organizes international specialist exhibitions in the many fields of the agricultural sector, from agricultural machinery and equipment, crop growing and animal production to bioenergy. These shows present innovative products, processes and services along the entire value chain.
DLG International GmbH coordinates and steers the activities of its subsidiaries and projects from its Head Office in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Their subsidiaries are based in Russia, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Benelux, Romania, Italy and China.
AFC Consultants International
AFC Consultants International is one of the implementing agencies of the Sino-German Crop Production and Agrotechnology Demonstration Park.
Based in Bonn, Germany, AFC provides consulting services for intensification and diversification in optimized agricultural production techniques for market- and environment-oriented agricultural development in cooperation with public and private sector organizations in developing and transition countries.
ADT Projekt GmbH
ADT Projekt GmbH is one of the implementing agencies of the Development of Animal Breeding in China Project.
It is an innovative and reliable German consulting firm that focuses on planning and implementing international projects in five inter related fields of competences, i.e. Livestock, Veterinary & Food Safety, Agriculture, Rural Development and Agribusiness. Their core competence lies in the provision of professional consultation, technical assistance, training and project management for public and private donors.
Since 1995 ADT has been working for governments, development agencies, public institutions as well as for enterprises and organisations of agriculture and the food industry in more than 50 countries.
Krieg & Fischer Ingenieure GmbH
Krieg & Fischer Ingenieure GmbH is one of the implementing agencies of the Sino-German Biogas Model Plant Project.
They are an engineeringÂ office with more than 25 years of experience in biogas technology. Their team of highly-skilled engineers works on an interdisciplinary basis, covering the areas of process and civil engineering, energy and agricultural technology.
Krieg & Fischer has project experience in biogas in more than 20 countries, and collaborations with reliable partners in 12 countries.
OAV - German Asia-Pacific Business Association
The OAV is a leading network of German companies with interests and activities in the Asia-Pacific region. With approximately 500 member companies to date, the OAV is a privately held, non-profit organization.
The OAV strives to promote stronger bilateral economic relationships between Germany and the Asia-Pacific region. The OAV provides a platform for the exchange of the most up-to-date economic developments from the region, provides support for doing business and where possible, helps businesses overcome challenges in the region. As a founding member of the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business, the OAV is strongly involved in the representation of the interests of German companies and is present in high-profile economic and political dialogues between Germany and the Asia-Pacific.
Since 2012 the Working Group Agribusiness has set up a Coordination Office for Asia in partnership with the OAV, which is supported by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL). The Coordination Office is a central point for the cooperation with associations and companies operating in the agricultural and food industry in Germany as well as in India and China.
