A Bilateral Cooperation Project
The production of bioenergy is an important contribution to the development of rural areas as well as to local and global climate protection. In particular, biogas plants based on agricultural waste make it an efficient and forward-looking option. In China the resource-conserving agriculture shall be promoted through a Sino-German biogas model plant. In the foreground of the project work stands the use of modern technology, training and consulting as well as environmental protection.
At the site Yutian, 200 km east of Beijing, close to a modern pig fattening farm a high-capacity biogas plant will be built, which, adapted to local needs, works efficiently and economically. The biogas produced from pig manure shall supply 15,000 households with renewable energy. The digestate is used as an organic fertilizer and replaces the energy consuming produced mineral fertilizer.
Project Goals and Areas of Action
With supportive consulting services based on the Sino-German biogas model plant, optimal usage and system concepts of agricultural biogas plants shall be demonstrated. That way, Chinese investors can inform themselves in Yutian about biogas production and utilization, production of organic fertilizer, about technological design features and details and plant operation.
In addition to the energetic use of biogas, a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and other negative factors such as over-fertilization and groundwater pollution can be achieved. Thereby it is intended to contribute to the environmentally sound and sustainable use of agricultural waste, the generation of renewable energy and of fertilizers in China.
The tasks of the Sino-German cooperation partner include:
- site selection
- development of concepts for method and process optimization in coordination with the responsible planning office and the plant operator
- performance improvement by using modern biogas technology
- consulting services in planning, building, testing and operation commissioning
- implementation and coordination of training activities to qualify Chinese professionals
Project Partners and Cooperation
The project is commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and implemented by Krieg & Fischer Ingenieure GmbH. Hangzhou Energy & Environmental Engineering Co. Ltd. (HEEE) is the Chinese advisory partner.
Krieg & Fischer Ingenieure GmbH was founded in 1999 and is an internationally known, globally active independent engineering office for the planning and construction of biogas plants and for providing advice and expert opinions in the field of biogas.
HEEE is a leading biogas company in China. Founded in 1992, it specializes in the design of biogas plants and also acts as a general contractor and component supplier.
Both companies have been cooperating in the field of advisory of biogas projects in China since 2009.
