Organic Leadership Course (OLC) and BIOFACH China Day 2018
by Juan Marquardt
International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) organizes the 5th European Organic Leadership Course (OLC) from May 2017 to February 2018. This intensive, one-year course empowers participants to assume greater responsibilities in finding organic solutions to address the world’s environmental and social challenges. It is IFOAM’s flagship training program, comprising two face-to-face sessions and 10 webinars. After the first residential session in Croatia in May 2017, 22 international participants prepared their country reports and development plans within the following-up nine months, presented their results during the second face-to-face session in Germany and received certificates one day before Biofach Nuernberg on 13 February, 2018. Markus Arbenz, Executive Director of IFOAM, delivered training on Strategy and Leadership during the second face-to-face session. Peggy Miars, IFOAM’s new President, issued the certificates to all participants. Ms. Wei Rong, Agricultural Advisor, has successfully completed her OLC. Afterwards, she attended the Biofach Nuernberg and delivered a speech on “Organic Agriculture-An Opportunity for Sino-German Agricultural Cooperation” during the event of China Day. Several participants showed interests and approached her for more information. You can find her country report on organic market supply on our website soon.
